Mission Updates

Tulungen Indonesian Library Project

We received this thank you and update from the Tulungens!

The newest library was just blessed in Indonesia. The pictures show a little bit of the ceremony.

We also held a garage sale and raised $300 for the library. Johnnes’s mother was able to take back with her enough money to buy the first computer for any of the libraries! It will be housed in the library in the attached pictures.

We are so excited, wanted to share, and say thank you again to the congregation at Robinson for the continued support of the libraries. It is with Robinson’s support that the project has continued to move ahead.

Yours,

Cathy Tulungen

Bible Study

Mondays 1:30 PM—September 21

Join our ongoing peer-led bible study. It will resume, in mid-September, but you can start your planning now. We work from the Wired Word, which is e-mailed to participants  (though we can print it out for people who don’t have computers), and from other books.

For both our newcomers and returning participants, we’ll start using “Psalms, Prayers of the Heart” by Eugene H. Peterson when we resume. We have ten copies of the books in the church office, and the books are $5.00 each.

Join us we work to better understand ourselves, our world, and our God.

Update on Uganda Mission – Hope Primary School Roof

Our March Deacons’ Fund goal was to collect enough donations to complete a roof for Hope Primary School for our Ugandan friends. Our goal was to collect $1900 and by the end of March we collected $2075. This included $400 from a “pay what you can” bake sale and $1675 from the Deacons Fund March collection.  The roof is nearly completed and the children are out of the rain and hot sun while they learn.

A huge thanks to everyone who supported this cause.

Thank you to everyone who donated to support this year’s Greater Syracuse CROP Hunger Walk. With your help, we raised $495 this year.  O
ur team had a nice time walking with the other churches at Onondaga Lake Park on a brisk Fall day.   Even though the walk is over, you can still make a secure online donation at our Robinson team page. Your gift can help save a life!

Tribute Courtyard

Tribute Courtyard
The young adults are raising funds for a mission trip to help the ongoing ministry of Kinyamaseke, Uganda. The children, helped by the young adults, are looking forward to weekend mission trips in the region.

All proceeds from the Tribute Courtyard will be used in support of youth mission, and events for both fellowship and service.

About the Courtyard
CourtyardThe Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church Tribute Courtyard will welcome everyone at the main entrance to the church between the sanctuary and the education building. It is the perfect opportunity to honor the memory of a loved-one, to pay tribute to a good friend, or to become a permanent part of the Robinson Family. This project is an initiative of the Robinson Youth Ministry. Funds will be used to help send Robinson Memorial Youth on their upcoming mission trip to Uganda, and other Youth Ministry projects.
